Take It On! Talks enables us to provide diabetes education to small and large organizations, such as schools, clubs, churches, civic groups and work places in the Centre region. The program consists of a presentation and discussion, and is co-hosted by two or more members. Typically, one speaker is someone who is personally affected by diabetes, while the other is a health care provider who works directly with people who have diabetes.

As part of the program, participants are encouraged to take a Diabetes Risk Assessment, which gives a sense of risk for developing type-2 diabetes. Those scoring high on the assessment are highly encouraged to take the assessment to their primary health care provider for discussion. You can take the assessment online by clicking the link above.

We want to speak to individuals with diabetes and their family members and friends, those at risk for developing the disease, and anyone who wants to better understand diabetes and help make our community a healthier place to live.

There is no fee for the program but we do accept donations to help us continue the work we are doing. The duration and format of the presentation is flexible and can be customized to meet your organization’s needs.
